Developing Excellence
At Laughton, we believe in ensuring excellence every day, in every way.
To achieve this, we outline a number of priorities that will develop school and refine its performance to achieve continued and sustained improvement. The Developing Excellence Plan below maps out our strategic plans for school improvement.
In brief, our Developing Excellence Priorities for the year 2022-23 are:
1. Continue to embed a culture of teaching excellence and a common language, whereby staff gain the pedagogical expertise and knowledge of the science of memory required to drive standards so that all pupils make very good progress with their learning and ‘know and remember more’.
2. Continue to refine systems for assessment, to include assessment of the wider curriculum.
3. To ensure equality objectives thread through the culture, ethos and curriculum of our school: embedding anti-racism and gender equality in our school.
4. Develop a strong focus on outstanding behaviour and attendance and create a culture where children show they have the skills to face difficulties with confidence.
5. To enhance learners’ spiritual, moral, cultural and social understanding through the further development of their character education, emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Please see the documents below for more information and each priorities' actions in detail.
