At Laughton All Saints’ C of E Primary Academy, we seek to stimulate the minds of our children; to encourage questioning and a thirst to find out answers and are committed to developing children's curiosity for science through an inspiring, exciting and inclusive curriculum. We aim for all children to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of science, so that they can understand the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Our intention is to increase our pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the world, and with developing skills associated with Science as a process of enquiry. We value the courage of every child to ask and answer their own questions about their universe and empower them with the skills to do this, ever more independently, through a full range of enquiry types. We support and nurture all children with their understanding of how science has changed our lives and is vital to the world’s future prosperity, giving them the ability to recognise the power of rational explanation. We want our children to be excited and curious about the world around them, so that they are inspired to think about science in a meaningful and responsible way throughout their lives, becoming life-long learners of the subject!
